Greetings, Soulkeepers!
Words carry weight, some more than others. With the power of the new Sigil Stone, you can get an additional edge on your rival Soulkeepers, but at the cost of making yourself vulnerable to a select few.
Sigil Stone
The ancient Runic alphabets were both written languages, and a representation of magical power. Runes featured heavily in divination, a practice which continues to this day.
All characters can now consult a personal Sigil Stone, upon which individual runes, known as Sigils, can be engraved and empowered. The power granted by your Sigil Stone only functions in PvP combat, though monsters in future updates may have special interactions with your Sigil Stone property.
Choose Your Fate
Before you can unlock your Sigil Stone's power, you must pledge yourself to one of four paths - Courage, Hope, Harmony, or Chaos.
The first three paths, Courage, Hope, and Harmony, function like Rock-Paper-Scissors. You will not notice a significant difference when fighting against another Soulkeeper who shares your property, as your properties will Match. But each path has Affinity with one of the other two, and Antipathy with the remainder, and you'll notice an increase or decrease in the damage you inflict and receive. As in Rock-Paper-Scissors, no single property reigns supreme.
Chaos has the Special relationship with all properties (including itself), so the changes to your offense and defense will apply equally against Soulkeepers of all properties. If you don't want to worry about which property another Soulkeeper might have, we recommend selecting the Chaos property.
The Sigil Is Mightier
Each of the sixteen Sigils on your Sigil stone must first be activated, which you can do with the Water of Urd attuned to that Sigil. The Water of Verdandi will activate one of the sixteen Sigils, selected at random. Each Sigil increases the property modifiers to your offense and/or defense by an amount and/or percentage.
Once activated, you can increase the effects of each Sigil by giving it enough experience points to increase its level, to a maximum of 8. The Waters of Urd and Verdandi will increase the experience of an already-activated Sigil, and Asgardian Ore can be used to add experience to an already-activated Sigil of your choice.
Soulcrafter's Secret
Soulcrafters will find a new recipe is available from the trainer - the Water of Skuld. This liquid represents a fate yet unwritten, and when used, it will turn into a Water of Urd attuned to one of the sixteen sigils.
The materials needed for this new recipe can be purchased from Trial Coin Item Merchant Layla.
Spring of Nerodin
You waited a long time for Spring, and it's not over yet! You'll be able to claim Nerodin Lucre and Ancient Nerodin Keys as login rewards for another two weeks, and there will still be Ancient Nerodin Coffers to find in Nerodin Ruins and the world beyond.
However, we're making some slight adjustments to the event. Players were sometimes disappointed to discover that opened Ancient Nerodin Coffers turned out to be empty, so we've made sure that you'll always receive at least 1 Nerodin Lucre when opening a coffer. We've had to slightly lower the average payout per coffer to adjust for the increased frequency, but it should all even out.
Account-wide limits have been added to the numbers of Transcended Destructive Equipment/Accessory Boxes and Mistilteinn that can be obtained from this event. Any you've already claimed won't count against this.
PePe now has items which can be used to unlock and empower the Sigils on your Sigil Stone.
System Enhancements and Modifications
Deification
Reach a new plateau of divine power, with an increased Deification level cap of 24. You'll need to spend ever-increasing amounts of Mistilteinn in order to reach these new levels, but they don't let just anybody walk with the gods these days.
Passive Stat Cap
Items such as the Blue Potion give your character stat boosts, completely independent of your gear, level, or any other sort of progression. We're planning to make these sorts of permanent boosts more common in the near future, but as a result, we've had to add a cap to the total stat boosts you can get from them. You can view your current passive stat boosts under the Additional Abilities tab of your Character window, and how close you are to each stat's cap.
Collection Stats
You can now see your total stat bonuses from your completed Collections on your Character window, under Collection Ability Info.
Valhalla
The boss creatures in Valhalla have been somewhat beefed up. Frigg's Blessing can still be used in Valhalla, but will no longer provide a buff.
Cash Shop
The Water of Urd Lamp contains a long list of possible premium rewards, but you'll most commonly receive a Water of Urd attuned to a random Sigil.
The Norn Talisman of Amnesia will reset your selected affinity, allowing you to select a new path. Your activated Sigils and their levels will remain as they were - only the property interactions will change.
Thank you!
